The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including angels, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within the urban setting.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
  • Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the party access areas they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Strategists groups.

Fans can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
